Head Coach Jesse Dellavecchia

Dellavecchia currently serves as an assistant wrestling coach at Hofstra University. He previously spent two seasons as an assistant coach at LIU, helping the Sharks earn 11 dual-match victories and coaching Anthony D’Alesio to become the first NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships qualifier in LIU program history. Prior to LIU, he served as a volunteer assistant coach at Army West Point.

Before beginning his coaching career, DellaVecchia established himself as one of the most accomplished wrestlers in Rider University history. A three-time NCAA qualifier and two-time Mid-American Conference champion at 157 pounds, he became Rider’s first-ever NCAA finalist and earned All-American honors in 2021.

A native of Great River, New York, Jesse was a two-time New York State finalist, three-time New York State All-State selection, and four-time NHSCA All-American at East Islip High School. He earned his degree in Business from Rider University in 2021.

Through Island Wrestling Academy, Dellavecchia is committed to giving wrestlers of all ages the opportunity to develop their technique, confidence, work ethic, and competitive mindset while building a strong wrestling community on Long Island.
