Mike Torriero is a nationally recognized wrestling coach, program architect, and youth development leader with over two decades of experience building transformative athletic systems across the country.

From serving as a key figure in NYC’s Beat the Streets movement to launching the first-ever sanctioned wrestling program in Detroit Public Schools, Mike has consistently delivered results that combine elite coaching with community impact.

From coaching NCAA All Americans, National Champions and Olympic hopefuls, to being former Assistant Coach at New York University and Team Leader for USA Wrestling at the Senior & Veteran World Championships, Mike brings a unique blend of vision, execution, and deep grassroots connection.

Now leading the Town of Babylon’s Stingray Wrestling Program, Mike is focused on building a first-of-its-kind civic wrestling infrastructure—free for Babylon residents, open to all, and built to scale from kindergarten through college graduation. His mission: to use wrestling as a vehicle for discipline, opportunity, and long-term community transformation.
